LBJ Presidential Library
& Museum

Austin, TX

The LBJ Presidential Library & Museum is operated in a joint venture between The National Archives and the LBJ Foundation. In 2013, Liza was instrumental in the refresh of the permanent exhibits, including 14,000 s/f of galleries on 3 levels capturing LBJ’s presidential tenure, childhood, global politics, legacy, and family. Liza served as a senior graphic designer from concept to installation.

Completed with G&A Strategy & Design.
In 2019, Liza was the Creative Lead and Project Executive in the ongoing refresh of select exhibitions, scheduled to open in Spring 2026. These updates include additional interactivity to attract families and younger audiences, a modernization of exhibits, and a stronger focus on LBJ’s values and legacy. Liza was a trusted client advisor, ensuring the design was tailored for budget and project goals. She oversaw a design process that tested media displays—both film and interactive—for both audience understanding and participation, as well as technical feasibility. Liza also mentored a developing Creative Lead to drive the team’s process, starting mid-way through Schematic Design.

Refresh Final Design Documentation

Final Designs captured design intent for both physical and media installations for new, interactive exhibits to be installed in 2026. Liza oversaw the development of both packages to ensure clarity and design excellence that reflected the client’s vision.

Budget Documentation

The client stipulated a clear budget from the beginning of the project, and Liza helped ensure compliance with frequent budgeting updates. During 50% Final Design, she oversaw a bid process for both physical exhibits and partners for media production.

2011 Graphic Design Documentation

As lead graphic designer on the original exhibit refresh in 2011, Liza completed Final Design documentation to ensure accurate pricing and a smooth production process. She oversaw CA and FDA for all graphics (and created a large number of the FDA files).
